Siyathemba 20MVA, 88kV/22kV Substation

Project:

Siyathemba 20MVA, 88kV/22kV Substation

Client: Dipaleseng Local Municipality

A new 88/22kV substation, named Siyathemba, with two 10MVA transformers, has been successfully constructed approximately 1 km north of Balfour town in the Mpumalanga province. The establishment of the Siyathemba Substation was necessitated by the projected increase in electrical demand in the Siyathemba Township area, primarily due to new developments and increased capacity activities in the vicinity.

This project has brought significant advantages to the town of Balfour. Notably, it has led to a noticeable enhancement in the quality of the electrical supply. Furthermore, rural networks within the region will experience improved voltage profiles, resulting in a more stable and reliable power supply.
